Keeping a growing distributed team in sync with each other can be a challenge. To that end, we rely heavily on shared Basecamp calendars to remain apprised of all goings-on across the company.
Every team and project in Basecamp comes with an optional “Schedule” feature. If enabled, this feature allows us to assign due-dates on tasks and also schedule events such as meetings, sale periods, project deadlines, time off, conferences, and so on.
Employees are recommended to subscribe to the Company HQ Schedule as well as any other team or project schedules applicable to your job.
Subscribing to a calendar
To subscribe to a Basecamp calendar, visit the Schedule within a given team or project and clicking on the “Add this Schedule…” link:
There you will be shown links for subscribing via Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook. You can then use those URLs to subscribe in your calendar tool of choice. Employees are welcome to use any calendar service or application they prefer.
If subscribing via Google Calendar, it should look like this:
Alternatively, it is possible to subscribe to all Schedules you have access to at once by going to My Stuff – > My Schedule in Basecamp. That master calendar will include everything scheduled across all teams and projects which you are a part of. It’s up to you to subscribe this way if you prefer.
